A boy in New York is taken in by a wealthy Upper East Side family after his mother is killed in a bombing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Principal photography kicked off on January 23 for the film adaptation of Donna Tartt’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, The Goldfinch, about thirteen-year-old Theodore “Theo” Decker who embarks on a stirring odyssey of grief and guilt, reinvention and redemption, and even love, following the death of his mother. Through it all, he holds on to one tangible piece of hope from that terrible day...a painting of a tiny bird chained to its perch. The Goldfinch. Directed by John Crowley, the film stars Ansel Elgort as Theo and Oscar winner Nicole Kidman as Mrs. Barbour.
